There are 55,122 new cases of invasive Breast Cancer each year in the UK. 23% of Breast cancer cases are preventable.
In hopes of avoiding the life changing disease, some women who are classed as ‘at very high risk’ of developing breast cancer elect to have both breasts surgically removed. By having the surgery, the aim is to remove all breast tissue that potentially could develop into breast cancer.
Today I had 2 inspiring sisters come to me who opted for the life changing surgery after losing their other sister sadly to breast cancer.
The fantastic NHS surgical team, reconstructed both of their breasts using implants to rebuild the breasts.
These 2 women are so, incredibly brave and I had the pleasure of being able to create a 3D areola using Perma Blend pigments to complete their reconstructive surgical procedure, as you can see in the image below.
It was an absolute honour meeting and treating these 2 women today and hearing their story.
Here at Naomi O’Hara Permanent Cosmetics we activity try to communicate that there are procedures available to help women and not forgetting men who have had reconstructive surgery following on from Breast Cancer. In 2015 I came up with an idea to help these amazing, courageous people and 3 years later, there are a group of women who offer their 3D Areola Tattoo services for FREE in the UK, these women are absolute Angels, we call them Areola Angels.
